ENGLISH:
This is the story of a guy who is turned down at Burning because his legging shorts “are not trendy anymore”. Not really sad, as he couldn’t afford the entrance fee anyway, he gets back in his truck and goes to the desert.

At the wheel of his clunker van, he takes advantage of the straight road to
compose techno musings on his old computer to stay awake. Days go by and look alike. The cold of the night quickly gives way to dry, stifling heat and the air burns his windpipe before reaching his lungs that are already covered with sand. Soon the water begins to run out, he must find a shelter.

Off-grid, he drives on sight. In the distance, traces. He follows them. He finds more and more of them, and it gradually turns into a real highway of ghost caravans. Always straight ahead, for hours and hours. Fortunately he still has petrol. Dazed by the heat, he starts to think of himself as a techno prophet, roaming the desert in an endless quest for a nation of people dressed in legging shorts and fanatic of repetitive music.

A sign! He stops. “Rincon, 1300 km”.
It’s decided, he will build his temple there.

C’est l’histoire d’un mec qui se fait refoul du Burning Man car ses leggings shorts « ne sont plus tendance ». Pas vraiment triste, de toutes façon il n’avait pas les moyens de se payer le billet, il remonte dans son camion et repart dans le désert.

Au volant de son cametard au bord de la rupture il profite des trajets en ligne droite pour composer sur son vieux PC des envolées techno qui lui permettent de rester éveillé. Les journées passent et se ressemblent. Le froid de la nuit cède rapidement sa place à une chaleur sèche et étouffante et l’air brûle sa trachée avant d’atteindre ses poumons déjà tapissés de sable. Rapidement, l’eau commence à manquer, il faut qu’il trouve un refuge.

Sans réseau, il roule à vue. Au loin, des traces. Il les suit. D’autres s’ajoutent à cette piste qui se transforme petit à petit en une vraie autoroute de caravanes fantômes. Toujours tout droit, des heures et des heures durant. Heureusement qu’il a du gasole en rab. Abruti par la chaleur, il commence à se prendre pour un prophète techno, parcourant le désert dans une quête sans fin d’un peuple habillé en shorts leggings et fanatique de musiques répétitives.

Un panneau ! Il s’arrête. « Rincon, 1300km ».
C’est décidé, il construira son temple là-bas.
